About Us
NSDO Organization has been working in South Sudan since its funding year - 2017 for over 6 years with a progressive extensive and expanding activities in nexus of Humanitarian, Peace and Development sectors. We have a strong and established team working tirelessly from 6 bases across the country, providing essential services and helping to keep people alive.
They are considered to be of great importance for the coming years as the Republic of South Sudan (RoSS) aims at building national capacity at different levels to avoid dependency on International NGOs. NSDO will always strive at working closely with concerned line ministries in project locations and at the head office level.
NSDO has a head office in Juba and field operations in Mundri, Maridi, Yambio, Kajo Keji, Aweil and Terekeka. The first project intervention was a relief operation in response to the humanitarian crisis resulting from the July 8-11, 2016 conflict in the Country.

Why Us!
NSDO is working in South Sudan to deliver timely and effective humanitarian aid to help people affected by the conflict;
NSDO develops emergency preparedness plans and participates in coordination efforts with other humanitarian agencies, including through the U.N. South Sudan Humanitarian Fund to identify effective action in response to sudden crises.
Our operations have been covering to date six major zones: Upper Nile, Warrap, Eastern Equatoria, Central Equatoria, Unity, and Western Equatoria.
Since 2017, we have been working with South Sudanese communities to recover from emergencies and strengthen their resilience to future challenges. In response to COVID 19, we’ve adapted our programs in order to continue working with communities.
In 2022, NSDO’s humanitarian assistance in the country has reached out over 600,000 South Sudanese people in need, including est. 200,000 children and adolescents, through various initiatives such as food security and livelihood, health and nutrition, protection, education, GBV prevention, civic education, peace education, climate change action, water, sanitation and hygiene among others.
We work with South Sudanese internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees and host communities. With diverse projects in afore listed sectors, we have an integrated approach in mind, from emergency, relief, transition to recovery.
Sexual violence is under-reported in South Sudan, but in reality, is rape and often used as a weapon of war.NSDO is helping women to access medical support and legal advice and providing safe spaces where they can come together to hold authorities to account and push for their rights to be respected. We provide women, who usually take responsibility for running households but receive little decision-making power, with opportunities to gain economic independence through agriculture, TEVT and other FSL opportunities.
